It's easy to reach Flushing Meadows Corona Park by foot, car, bus,
subway, or train.
By Foot
Though most reach the Park by vehicle, it's easy enough to walk
from 111th Street in Corona. There are pedestrian overpasses to
the central area at 49th Avenue and 54th Avenue. There are also
entrances to the southern Park from Forest Hills at 72nd Avenue
and from Kew Gardens Hills at 73rd Terraces. However, be careful
as these entrances are fairly isolated.
By Car
Take the Grand Central Parkway to exit 9E for Flushing Meadows Corona
Park (turn left for tennis or right for the Museum and Unisphere
parking), or else exit 10 for Shea Stadium, the Hall of Science,
and zoo. There is also an entrance from the Van Wyck Expressway
at exit 11, which leads directly to Meadow Lake parking.
By Bus
Take the Q48 to Roosevelt Avenue and 111th Street, then walk south
into the Park. Or take the Q23 or Q58 to Corona and 51st Avenues,
and walk east into the Park.
By Subway
The 7 line stops at Willets Point/Shea Stadium, on Roosevelt Avenue
in the northern part of the Park. The station is surrounded by Shea
Stadium parking. Pedestrian ramps connect to the Park. A free trolley
runs from the station to the Queens Theatre in the Park before and
after performances. The 7 stop at 111th Street is also close to
the Park. Walk south on 111th Street to the Park entrance at 49th
Avenue. Check the MTA site for details.
By Train
The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) has a stop at Shea Stadium along
its Port Washington line. Check the LIRR site for schedules.
